Hi all,

Since the latest Safari update it crashes when trying to open an Agilo backlog. Strangely enough this does not occur on the Agilo test/demo environment on agilofortrac.com so I presume its may be a configuration issue on my own server.

See Safari report and system specs below.

Any ideas what may be the cause?

It works fine on Firefox and Chrome.

Client system
- Mac OS 10.10 (Yosemite) (but also had same issue on 10.9 Maverics with new Safari)
- Safari 8.0

Server system
- Ubuntu 14.04 LTS
- Python 2.7
- Trac 1.0.1

Hi,
which version of Agilo for Trac are you using?
Have you any extensions for Safari that could issue the cash? (to check you extensions you can run from command line: ls -1 /Library/Internet\ Plug-Ins)
In order to understand if the problem is related to your specific configuration, can you also try on another machine with Safari 8.0 and check if the error comes out again?

Cheers,

Hi,

apologies for the delayed response, I didn't receive a notification on your reply. Thanks for replying.

Plugin output:

AdobePDFViewer.plugin

AdobePDFViewerNPAPI.plugin

Default Browser.plugin

Flash Player.plugin

LogMeIn.plugin

LogMeInSafari32.plugin

LogitechHarmony.plugin

Quartz Composer.webplugin

QuickTime Plugin.plugin

SharePointBrowserPlugin.plugin

SharePointWebKitPlugin.webplugin

Silverlight.plugin

flashplayer.xpt

nsIQTScriptablePlugin.xpt

It seems to occur on both my macs .. iMac (2011) Yosemite and MacBook Air (2012) Yosemite. Both have the same issue in Safari since 8.0 was released.

Hi,

One thing that you can do is disabling all your plugins. So except for these five

Default Browser.plugin

Quartz Composer.webplugin

QuickTime Plugin.plugin

flashplayer.xpt

nsIQTScriptablePlugin.xpt

To do so, open your finder and go to the folder "/Library/Internet Plug-Ins" (you can use the go feature by pressing SHIFT-COMMAND-G) and move the other files to another location (e.g. your desktop)

If it crashes again, can you send me also the safari crash log file? It is located in the "~/Library/Logs/DiagnosticReports/"

Hi,

thanks for helping out here.

Unfortunately no luck here in disabling the Safari Plugins. I have attached the crash report.

Fortunately the workaround is using a different browser, in this case I'm using Firefox which is working fine, but I prefer staying with one single browser.

I need to add that I suspect this might be a configuration issue on my server. I did connect to your Agilo hosted demo server and was able to browse all pages and work with Agilo using Safari without any issues.

Some information on my Trac/Agilo server:
- Ubuntu 12.04.05 LTS
- Python 2.7.3
- Trac 1.0.1
- Agilo 1.3.13 PRO

Regards,
Remko Seelig

I reproduced the problem, both safari 7.1 and 8.0 are affected. It should be related to a non optimised part of our code when rendering the backlog. So when there are several tickets Safari crashes. I have created a ticket for it which will be fixed in the next release of Agilo for Trac.
Our websites are not affected from this bug because they run an older version of Agilo.

Here it is the ticket:

I will let you know when the new version will be released. Sorry for the inconvenience.
