Hello Everyone,

Please find attached the handouts from this evening’s meeting.

The biggest bombshell of the evening was the disclosure that St. Elizabeth’s Medical Center (SEMC) leases 117 parking spaces from the Roman Catholic Archbishop of Boston (Annex) on the property that Avalon Bay hopes to develop. The lease expires in 2018 with two two year options that SEMC can exercise.  Although Cabot, Cabot & Forbes and Avalon Bay admitted tonight they were aware of the arrangement, for the first time they heard SEMC announce that they plan to exercise both options extending the lease to 2022.

The lease with the Elks is to mid-2021.

Between the Monastery, Annex and Elks, I suspect St. Elizabeth’s is spending a lot of money on off-site parking.

St Elizabeth’s also announced at the present time, they have no development plans for the SEMC campus.

Don’t forget the comment period for SEMC IMPNF for renewal ends on August 16, 2017.  (Refer to attached cover page for instructions)  If approved by the BPDA Board of Directors, the renewal is good for four years.

P.S. For those who attended, please feel free to share your observations.
