It’s time to part ways with my beloved Rawland Stag. I rode Paris-Brest-Paris on this bike in 2015, and we’ve been on thousands of miles of other adventures together over the past few years. I’m sure I don’t need to say much about the Stag to the readers of this list as there have been numerous reviews posted here. As you all know, the Stag is one of the best deals going for entry into the world of 650b, low trail and light tubing.
Mine has spent most of its life set up as a randonneur, but it’s currently in more of a stripped down, rough-stuff, adventure mode with a Shimergo 8 speed drivetrain and Switchback Hill tires. The frame has a few minor scratches and scuff marks, but no dents, cracks or rust. The tires have a couple thousand miles of use, but there’s still quite a bit of life in them. They’ve been set up tubeless in the past, but they’re currently with tubes.
One issue to be aware of: I drilled a hole on the underside of the down tube near the head tube and another on the back of the bottom bracket shell. This was to internally route a tail light wire from the generator hub when the bike was in rando mode. It’s had these holes for its entire life without any issues. I realize some of you will see this as a liability while others will see it as an asset. The wire is still in place, so if you’re one of those who sees this as an asset, you can use the wire to fish through a new one. The holes have been de-burred to reduce risk of cracking and so they don’t chafe through the wire. There's usually a piece of electrical tape over the top hole to keep water out. I’ve done this with other bikes and I’ve never experienced any problems, but I’m sure there are those who believe that drilling a hole in a frame is asking for trouble, and it will explode at any moment. You decide. I just want to be totally transparent about this.

Too bad this is a Medium. I had a Large Stag and sold it. Would like to have one again.

If your deal fell through, and you considered the possibility of selling your Stag without the wheels (otherwise I, too, would need airplane tickets), I could be interested.
