id confirmation please on shorebirds at Lardeau near dusk

Hi all,

A neighbour alerted me to a couple shorebirds on the beach at Lardeau near dusk. I ran down and they are hunkered on the shore not moving, poor light. I’ve narrowed the id down to possible Sanderling and would like some help please. Larger than a peep, black legs, short black bill, white breast with narrow shoulder mark, no rufous in scales, no buffy band like for Bairds.
