Hi,

here is my report for the weekly curation tasks.

Not too much activity, only 10 pathways with changes.
https://www.wikipathways.org/index.php/Pathway:WP3103 includes some html
formating in the description. Is this a problem with the display, or was
it just written in a wrong way? Also, the recent update has "Added early
peroxisomal steps, still a work in progress". Should I add a "under
construction" tag in such a case? The main pathway is from 2015.

The last change in https://www.wikipathways.org/index.php/Pathway:WP5093
removed the Description that was previously added by Egon. Does somebody
know the author (Keshava Prasad)? It might be that the updates are made
in a way that it overrides changes by another user, as Egon also changed
the NCBI Protein data source twice already (I don't see if that changed
again).

For the "under construction" tag, I would have a feature suggestion:
Would it be possible to show when a pathway was tagged with this? e.g.
https://www.wikipathways.org/index.php/Pathway:WP5078 has several tags
from under construction, to needs work, and incomplete. As the last
change of the pathway was in June, I would remove the "under
construction" as it doesn't seem to be actively modified at the moment.
But maybe Kristina added the tag just recently because she is now
working on it? I think especially looking ahead to a potential github
implementation, it might be useful to somehow indicate that somebody is
working actively on this at the moment, to prevent some possible version
issues.

Another thing I realized when I tried to log in (with a new computer).
As I forgot my username, I had to figure out my name to email me the
password. For this, I tried to follow the link from the curator of the
week entry, but this had an additional "M" after "User:", so the link
didn't resolve. Once I found my username and clicked on E-mail password,
I got the following error: "Login error: Error sending mail: Failed to
send data [SMTP: Invalid response code received from server (code: 554,
response: Message rejected: Email address is not verified. The following
identities failed the check in region US-WEST-2:
nor...@wikipathways.org)] "
Luckily, I still remembered my password then ;)

Search works.
Next up is Friederike!

Cheers,
Daniela

Hi Daniela,

Thank you for your report.

For the broken HTML tags in WP3103, it won't help to fix those as MediaWiki restricts HTML. Also, the link to details of the Compara method is incomplete and should be updated (probably to https://plantreactome.gramene.org/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=68&Itemid=270&lang=en). However, there are many other Plant Reactome pathways with the same problem, not sure if we should be fixing them all manually.

For the updated description in WP5093, I think this is a mistake. I will contact the author, since I have had other communications with their group.

I agree that it would be very useful to have the date a tag was visible on the actual tag. For WP5078, I recently added back the "Under construction" tag after my recent curation round since it turned out the pathway is still being edited.

Sending password reminder emails from WikiPathways has been broken for a while. And the extra "M" in the link from the front page was a copy and paste error, sorry about that.

Thanks,

Kristina
