Article in Tennessean about hit and run of cyclist by SUV on Natchez Trace w/video from cycling buddy's helmet cam:

Fortunately it sounds like cyclist suffered no permanent injuries but the collision is disturbing.   I hope they can identify and prosecute the driver.

The comments on the Channel 5 version of the story include several that say, in essence, the person on the bike deserved it.

Having video -- that's gone viral nationally -- is the only reason this is news. Those of us who ride lots of miles each week should think seriously about adding them to our bikes. 

The possibility of being caught on video could at least make a drive think twice about fleeing the scene.

I did read the comments in various places and found many to be almost as disturbing as the video.  In the future I will try to follow "Edwin's rule":  Don't look at the comments section, because you WILL be discouraged.

The Cycliq Fly12 is supposed to be one of the better bike cams https://cycliq.com/products/fly12/ (and a headlight)

I'd like one but the price is a bit steep.

I've read lots of good things about the cycliq. I have a go-pro that I received as a present. It's great, but I don't think the battery lasts as long as the cycliq.
