Something I didn't know.

Sent from Doug’s iPhone I hope I'm spelling this name right, but I found out today that Joyce Nexsen, class of 1972, ask if she could take woodshop and piano tuning. She was told no for both requests by the school. She told me that this morning when we talked. I find that fascinating. if the school had these opportunities now, I wonder what their stance would be on it.

It was a different time and culture.  Girls took crafts and sewing,  the boys took piano tuning, woodshop and at one time chair caning.  Yes it was sexists but that was the way culture was then as well.  There were certain jobs girls just did not do.  Attitudes have changed.
