Hi,

According to https://v8.dev/blog/faster-releases every second V8 release will be maintained for 2 months.

However -  https://support.google.com/chrome/a/answer/11333726  -  claims that ChromeOS will get LTS versions for 6 months.

Does this mean that the version of V8 used in a LTS version of ChromeOS will get security patches for 6 months?

Best,
 Dimitar

Hi Dimitar,

it's correct that every second V8 release will be maintained for 8 weeks by the V8 team.

All other and longer supported versions (e.g. ChromeOS or Node LTS) are not maintained by the V8 team. Therefore I don't have any inside information on what patches are merged and when.

Cheers,

 Lutz
