V8's Chromium Build Dependency

Hi all, I'm investigating how V8 pulls in it's chromium dependencies, such as https://chromium.googlesource.com/v8/v8.git/+/refs/heads/master/DEPS#60 ? We are considering employing the same approach in the libassistant-internal codebase to simplify the way in which we pull in those same dependencies. How does this DEPS file get used, and by what script? Also, is there someone from your team who could go over the workings of this approach with us?

Deps are pulled in/updated through `gclient sync`, which is part of `depot_tools`. See https://v8.dev/docs/source-code#instructions.
