Legendary Afro-beat drummer Tony Allen died from a heart attack in France where he lived. He would have turned 80 in July.

May his soul rest in peace. 

Tony Allen is one prolific and inventive drummer that deserves a place in the historical narration of how Fela arrived at Afrobeat. In fact, he deserves his own historical dynamics as a master drummer. I am not sure that narration has commenced.
