We Christians have a passion for justice and fairness, but amidst the increasing economic inequality that besets us we can often feel frustrated about what we can do about it. 

You and your congregation are invited to take a free class taught by Cornel West - Called to Common Good: A Free Class on Economic Inequality and What Christians Can Do About It.

Cornel West is a prominent intellectual, author, and cultural critic.  This is an opportunity to learn about one of the most pervasive problems in the U.S. from one of the most thought-provoking teachers of our time.

We call it The Big Class and it runs from Jan 11-21, but you can register right now (we'll email you when it opens). The course will take about 45 minutes to complete and no special software is required. It's part of Trinity Institute's Jan 21-25 conference Creating Common Good.

Thanks, Jeff. I’m in!  Cornell taught me philosophy of religion my first semester at Union Sem!  Powerful thinker on democratic/Christian socialism, pragmaticism, and race, and hip hop, and public religion...  

ALL:  We should plan a time for group to discuss after this over.  

Coming up:

1/4: racial justice advocacy team meeting at 12:30
1/11: JMT-planning ahead meeting
1/18: JMT-Witness LGBT learning session
1/20:  Interfaith Advocacy Day in Richmond
1/23: Community Movie:  “The House I Live In” with Rob and Menda, on drug wars, mass incarceration and systemic racism.
