It was discovered during the Sony hack that that  Sony, the current owner of the format, has a two-year non-compete with Disney on the format after cancellation and that Disney will be allowed to sell "Millionaire" reruns to other possible buyers during that time (let's see, Game Show Network doesn't air it anymore and BUZZR only airs shows owned by Fremantle, so who's a buyer, except Disney+ or Hulu?).

I'm surprised ABC isn't doing something to promote the 20th Anniversary of the show in the U.S. with another limited run series but I guess ABC has way too many Game Shows on their Summer Primetime Schedule to make room.
