to Tricredibles, Robert Morrison, Mike Colombo, JAMES BULLOCK
Did the Pigs Tri today. Weather was great for this time of year. Sad to report that I let the Tricredibles down by taking second by 43 seconds to Leon Aurthur, but I have an excuse. From past races I knew Leon’s times and mine were about the same for the swim and T1/T2 and he is a little faster on the run and I am faster on the bike. Anyway, I was averaging about 20 mph for 10 of the 14 miles heading into the wind and then at the turn with a tail wind my average was getting faster, but the final 4 miles of the course is on a busy 2 lane road. I was catching up to and passing several other bikers, but got stalled behind about 5 vehicles three different times that were stacked up behind slower bikers I was catching up to and about to overtake and there was no room to pass the cars on the left or right, so I had to back off until the cars could clear and then hammer down. Ended up with 19 mph average and finished in 1:31:43. Bummer, but all in all a good day.
Bob, your competition Gary Taylor, age 82 turned the course in 2:25. You would have taken him.
Sharon Roggenbuck, age 85 turned in a 1:57 time and did her patented sumersalt at the awards ceremony.
Still having fun, still hanging in there.
See y’all on the roads/at the races.
Jimbo
