Hi,

How to configure the TREX to send gratuitous ARP periodically?

the TREX normally do not implement session on ports (Until TCP will be implemented) and sends and receives packets unidirectional.

When receive part of TREX machine is connected to the L2 switch then it is possible that switch will start packet flooding as TREX receiver do not learn switch about its MAC address.

my question is about possible preventing that flooding situation?

Hi Mirek,

This is a good idea,  we plan to implement ARP support (before TCP stack) so it will be part of the solution.

Our current workaround is to send traffic from all the ports with the right MAC when working with a Switch  so the Switch can learn.

thanks,
Hanoh
