Hello,

I have several machines where TortoiseSVN does not work after upgrading from 1.13.1 to 1.14.0 - context menu is missing. The problem reproduces consistently: install TortoiseSVN 1.13.1 (the context menu works), upgrade to 1.14.0 (the menu is missing). Tried restarting the computer before and after upgrading - the context menu is still missing. I can solve the problem by running the Repair command in TortoiseSVN's installer (via the *.msi or via Control Panel | Programs and Features).

Reproduced with:
* Windows Server 2019 Standard (10.0.17763 Build 17763)
* Windows 10 Pro for Workstations (10.0.18363 Build 18363)

Attached are the logs of installing TortoiseSVN 1.13.1 and upgrading to 1.14.1.

Thank you.

Hi,
today I also tried to upgrade from 1.13.1 to 1.14.0 and can also reproduce this problem. After upgrading (or a fresh install) the menu is missing and when trying to call the startmenu shortcut several windows complaining about missing dll files are popping up.

Cheers,
Nicki

Hello,

I think that the bug is going to be fixed in a patch update. See this thread: https://groups.google.com/d/msgid/tortoisesvn-dev/6a0e9a39-a32e-4184-8e3d-3591445db824%40googlegroups.com

Now you can solve the problem by repairing TortoiseSVN via Windows Installer. Follow these steps:

  1. Go to Control Panel | Programs and Features,
  2. Find TortoiseSVN 1.14.0 in the list of installed applications,
  3. Run the Repair command for TortoiseSVN 1.14.0.

Alternatively, you can start the TortoiseSVN 1.14.0 MSI (e.g., TortoiseSVN-1.14.0.28885-x64-svn-1.14.0.msi) and select the Repair command.

The problem will be solved when the repair is done.

Hope this helps.
