Apply changes and keep editor open?

I'm dipping my toes into writing macros.  I make a lot of mistakes while doing so.  It seems it would be more efficient for me if there were an "apply changes" button that applied the edits but kept the editor open since 99% of the time I've made some typo or syntax error and need to re-open the editor anyway.

Does such a feature exists, or make sense?

I asked this question a few days ago. Here was a reply:

BTW, just as a very simple solution -- I've found it helpful in this context to use the "eye" tool in the toolbar to have a tiddler open simultaneously for viewing and editing; this works if you're editing the same tiddler where you'll see the changes.  If you're editing one tiddler and expecting to see changes in a different tiddler, then you might to go with the solutions pointed to by Mark S.

Ah thanks Ed, that is useful.  I am trying to understand Macros so  in this case I am trying to edit one tiddler (the macro tiddler) and need to save it to see the changes in tiddlers that use the macro.
