Hallo,
I made quite a wild testimplementation of felixhayashi's TiddlyMap http://tiddlymap.org/ and a remote to shift through the story, to to see whether this could furnish serve as basis for slideshows.
The result is quite promising, have a look at http://slidemap.tiddlyspot.com/ and enjoy...

Nice idea, Jan :) …so you can have tiddlymap's live view on the one screen and the window that controlls which tiddler to display in the map on the other screen…

By the way, did you check out Jeremys great "slideshow" theme? → http://tiddlywiki.com/talkytalky/

Best wishes
Felix

Hi Felix,
thanks, I am glad you like it. I am fascinated with the possibilities of TiddlyMap and vis.js.
TalkyTalky was the first Theme I implemented, but i think a view with Tiddlymap an vis.js is far more promising.

I have some questions on what could be represented now and what could eventually be adapted for slideshows in the future.
-Where is the stylesheet for the map/view. I could not get FF to display the css-elements of the map. (for example the background and the buttons of tiddlyMap.)
-Would it be possible to zoom to a Tiddler via external events/buttons(Like in the list in the PopUp with the magnifyingclass on the topright corner).
-Would it be possible to trigger the PopUp a Tiddler with external buttons.
-Could you determine content to be shown in the PopUp .

Thanks and best wishes,
Jan

What's supposed to happen? I can use the remote to go from tiddler to tiddler on the other window, but the changes are happening to the left of the map and I was thinking there was supposed to be some action happening at the map itself.

Are you able to do a screencast to demo it, or is that what's supposed to happen?

Hi Dave,
My Idea was to use a livemap in the sidebar switched to fullscreen as base for the Presentation. The remote at present can be used to cycle through the storyriver and switch the livemap to different Tiddlers.
At the moment it shows the active Tiddler and the relations it has - and no a Map prepared for a special presentation. This view needs to be customized during the development.

I would like to stay in the same map focussing and zooming throught the Tiddlers in the storyriver (which should be contained in the Map of course)
I would like to display the Tiddler's texts (and other elements related to the Tiddler like images) in a remote way when the Tiddler is focussed.

As I wrote this is a sort of public test of the concept...

Yours Jan

Hi Jan,

-Where is the stylesheet for the map/view. I could not get FF to display the css-elements of the map. (for example the background and the buttons of tiddlyMap.)

The css can be found in the shadow tiddler "$:/plugins/felixhayashi/tiddlymap/layout", which is a compilation of the sass files found here: https://github.com/felixhayashi/TW5-TiddlyMap/tree/master/src/plugins/felixhayashi/tiddlymap/files

However, note that the css may still change in the future...

-Would it be possible to zoom to a Tiddler via external events/buttons(Like in the list in the PopUp with the magnifyingclass on the topright corner).

thats not officially supported. Anyhow, if the map in the editor is the only map open in your wiki you can execute the following line in your js console to zoom on a node:

go to tiddlymap.org close all tiddlers in the river having maps and open the editor in the sidebar, then execute:

$tm.registry[0].handleFocusNode({ param: 'TiddlyWiki' })

but this code may change in the future...

-Would it be possible to trigger the PopUp a Tiddler with external buttons.

Unfortunately, this is too complicated to program.

-Could you determine content to be shown in the PopUp .

You can specify what to display in a popup by creating a "description" field in the tiddler and adding wikitext field value.

Best wishes
Felix
