Hey all - I was thinking of buying this trolling motor for my canoe and fish a ton around Riverbend. Is 30lbs going to be enough to push two adults in a canoe up river? And, is this a good motor?
Thanks,
Brian

I use a 50lb. Thrust motor to push one of Fletcher's rowboats loaded with my fishing partner, myself and all our gear around all day. I would think a 30lb. Thrust motor plenty for a canoe.
My Minn Kota's were all Endura's up until a few years ago. I was always able to pass them on to someone when I upgraded to higher lb. thrust motors. Good pieces of kit usually.
Cheers, Bob Smith

Brian, The first motor I had for my canoe was a 30# unit and it worked well on lakes. Younger brother and I got into the Roanoke river at Weldon, NC to look for stripers and decided to float downstream (about a mile)to the "big rock" where the big ones were. When we turned to come back up the going was really slow. We had to hug the bank to make any progress. I got a 50# shortly after that.
