[Narrative]
Bags packed, provisions acquired, and sighs sighed, the new due of Nymh and the Wizard head out of Nesme, following the main road west of the city and across the river Surbin. Then the map takes the adventurers off the main road, to the Edge of the Lurkwood.
Initially, the road is busy, but by the time the Lurkwoods are reached, it had been almost a day since another traveler was seen. Still, the weather was nice.
The map indicated a small area just inside the Lurkwood where the goblin trade was to take place. It’s not difficult to find, as the smell of goblin is overpowering. The map (and the smell) lead to a large thatch of nettles, which is all but impossible to see through. For some reason, off to the side of the entrance, is the remnants of a wooden bridge, which has seen better days. At the entrance of the nettles stand two goblins, guards apparently, armed with spears. Well, armed may be the wrong term, as the spears are lying on the ground, as the two goblin engage in a games of ‘spit, spit, punch’, were in they take turns trying to spit on one another, until someone is punched.
They seem ignorant of the approach of anyone.
[OOC]
If you have horses (likely), you can either have tied them up a distance away, or brought them with you. I leave that to you to decide.
You have surprise on them if you want, and have not revealed yourself.

[Narrative]
Plan made, Nymh steps out into the clearing and approaches.
Spying the Tiefling, the two guards (in name, if not ability), grab for the spears, eyes wide. “Halt Horn Head”, the first says, pointing his spear his way. “This is Warpaws land. We the greatest tribe of the lurkwoods. King Giznat, holder of staff, says all who approach die. Pay tribute, and we let you live.”

Powerful presence (1 Free Use)
[Narrative]
Nymh gives an introduction, and Faethil casts his spell, wrapping himself in a cloak of smoke and fire. Confidently, he steps out into the path, and addresses the golblins:
"I am afraid you have it backwards my young servant. King Giznat, holder of the staff, is now my servant, as are you."
He walks up to them without fear and with burning rage in his eyes. "Come now. Would you not like the chance for greater glory? More treasures than you've ever seen? Glorious victory in battle? Come my friends and walk with me so that we can show your former king the light."
The reaction is swift, as they drop their spears, drop to their knees, and grovel. “Yes! No need to kill us! We listen! We Listen!”
After they have a moment to regain what little composure they have, and lead you into the thicket. The dense thorns crate a natural barrier, but the roof is high enough to walk without effort, though both men note it could be easy to get turned around. Eventually, the bring you into a clearing that is positively brimming with goblin.
A dank smell hangs in the air, as fearful grey forms dart from the open areas to more concealed locations. The main clearing is obviously used for bathing, eating, and as a bathroom, the ground muddy and foul smelling. Off to both the right and left, are what appears to be openings leading below ground.
Through the chaos, a single goblin emerges, heading for you. She is clearly female, because she wears the tattered and stained remnant of what was once likely a beautiful dress for a girl. In her right hand, she claps a small, gnarled, club. The visible goblins watch her with a mixture of fear and awe.
She stops a few feet in front of you, curious eyes measuring you, then drops down to her knees. “You honor us”, she announces more loudly than necessary, “with your fearful presence. We ask your mercy and will give you tribute if you will spare our lives.”
Faethil silently congratulates himself, as the plan has worked as well as could be expected. Nymh, on the other hand, thinks she may be protesting her submission a little too loudly.
[OOC]
So, in game terms you’re ‘creating an advantage’, which gives you aspects you can freely invoke late (as a reminder, aspects can let you re-roll or add +2 to rolls). If you succeed, you get 1 invocation for free. If you succeed with style, you get 2. In this case, as it’s a dual effort, either of you can invoke it, but you’re limited to the number.

Feathil [Deceive]: +1 +1 + +1 = +3 vs 0+1 = +2 Succeed.

[OOC2]
On a related, yet totally unrelated note, FATE doesn’t really address languages. Per the core rules, Lore would be the closest skill, but for various reasons, I don’t like it. So, you guys can pick the languages you speak (within reason), and can do so moving on. If deciphering a language becomes an issue, Lore will control.
