regular poster here? He was interested in Emergent Systems and

Thanks for expressing your concern...

Tony is still very much with us, but was imprisoned a year ago last xmas (~3.5 - 5 yrs) for an offense committed in his early 20s - more than 50 years ago - with no evidence for any reoffending.

He is currently cloistered in Karreega medium security unit in the Geelong prison complex, and can be contacted via Australia Post. Posts will be censored, but are allowed in and out.

He is allowed to make phone and Zoom calls out to a few people on an approved list. The prison is also currently experimenting with email exchanges (at present emails must be text only). The phone calls are quite expensive in prison currency, but the zoom calls (limited to 40 minutes once a week per person called) are free.

If you would like to use the electronic channels, Tony must make a request from his end to put you on the approved list. For this to be set up, you will have to post your contact details to Tony in the prison, the Prison will then contact you for you to provide them with 100 pts of ID and your agreement to abide by the prison's communication regulations (they make sense if you are going to imprison people under State control). I don't know whether or not Tony has any spaces left on his approval list for additional contacts - so I can't promise anything where that is concerned.

Aside from that admin crap, Tony is actually doing quite well. The unit is comfortable, they have some contact with nature, and a lot of his physical needs are taken care of (not that he has any choice in the matter). I don't know if you know, but he had reached the point in his thinking and writing where he was already looking to go off the grid where he could focus on getting his thoughts in order. Initially, this would be with Daryl Taylor in his 'Earthship' community. Karreenga does this exceptionally well, except for the bureaucracy and limited access to his computer facilities.

His writing is actually progressing quite well, especially in the last month or so, when the prison has begun providing regular access to keyboard facilities (but not Internet access!) and a reasonable set of applications. Printing may still be an issue, as well as his ability to send out complete manuscripts. 

In any event, he is working towards what looks like a completely magisterial scientific and philosophical overview of complexity in the universe. His summary page alone foretells his approach, and I know there are a few areas where Tony could still benefit from more 'outside' help. So, if you think you might be able to put yourself in that category, I am pretty sure that he will be very happy for you to send him a post to open that channel.

I'll send a copy of this note to him, so he won't be too surprised to hear from you.
