Hi,

Anyone else seeing a spike of users reporting cameras freezing when using Chrome with Meets? Works perfectly fine with Edge or Chrome in Incognito mode. We did check for plugins that would interfere but some don't even have any plugins aside from the default Google Docs, Drive, etc. (and we tried turning them off).

Our Chrome browsers are currently set to auto-update to the latest version when it becomes available.

Check the call quality, sometimes if users connections are too lagging, they camera feed will be affected. Is it just one or a few users (from their home?) or the teacher (at school or at home?)

Morena Marlon,
I find that using the webapp helps https://support.google.com/meet/answer/10708569?hl=en and also clicking the 3 dots and then the troubleshooting whilst in a meet call and help will give a summary of the network and CPU loads as Meet sees them.

Thanks Steve, we will check out the webapp.

Hi Alastair, they are encountering it in school and the service works fine if they switch to Edge or if we set Chrome to incognito mode.

Good tips alistair,
If Meet runs well in Incognito then there is something browser based that is interfering.
Extensions or addons could be holding them up.  Maybe check the schools allowlist of extensions ?
The clearing of the cache is always a good step.
best regards
Steve

I've also seen blocking third party cookies interfering with watching live streams of meetings.
