Hi all,

I need a welder to place a new tongue hitch onto my flatbed trailer. Stick welding (probably flux core) is required. Willing to pay for parts and equipment, as well as a substantial fee for labor. Name your price. If you dont weld but know somebody, please let me know. We definitely will have more business in the future. Thank you!

Do you have pictures? What kind of loads will it haul? Highway speeds? Time frame?

Is the trailer currently regestered? There are funky laws about a home made trailer.

Do you have any pictures of the trailer? With the old hitch? Without? Can you show a cross section? Do you have the new parts? I really need to see the job.

Is there a reason that part can't be unbolted and repaired in shop
with MIG weld?

I did the welds that hold the front end of my motorcycle together
(fork construction, frame modification to hold new fork) in life or
death traffic emergency braking at TCMaker using our MIG welders.
3/16" steel didn't even push their capacity. The bike was load tested
at street levels beyond what race track tire forces could produce, and
the construction has 6,000 miles on it.

I'm not a certified welder, so if I was doing the job I'd take every
step I can to make the job as easy as possible, which means avoiding
out of position welds and using the most idiot-friendly machines
possible. You could also bridge over the weld with plates to provide
more weld length and stress distribution. Or you could just build a
whole new ball receiver / mount section and bolt that on.

That's impressive experience. The bolts are deep in there, and I'd just rather have somebody get it done than think about it. We don't have a MIG welding machine, and if it requires more than 120v we dont have the facility to do it.

Would you like to take a look at it? Our facility is just a mile away from TC Maker.

You can rent a welder from reddy rent for a day and do it yourself. http://www.reddyrents.com/welders.aspx

Bolts can probably be cut out pretty easily with an oxy-ace torch or
angle grinder. I could take a look but have limited free time and
live on the other side of town, and work in WI. The time I'm most
likely to be over near / at TCMaker is on Sunday, I could maybe swing
by then. My email is sebw...@gmail.com; if you wanna text me (I
don't usually check voice mail) my number is 612 695 5266
