Is there any way to  grant the WRITE_SECURE_SETTINGS permission to AutoTools on an older non-rooted Galaxy S4 running  Android 4.4.4?  I want to disable the high volume warning, So far, no luck. Thank you.

No guarantee this one works but no harm nor damage to your device I believe:

Device just be root.

In TASKER, add action, run shell: ( copy paste below )

pm grant com.joaomgcd.autotools android.permission.WRITE_SECURE_SETTINGS

Need to click: use root

Another example I use the same for granting TASKER plugin, security setting.

pm grant net.dinglisch.android.taskerm android.permission.WRITE_SECURE_SETTINGS

Thank you very much
Edmond

Turns out, my device was not being recognized. I downloaded a different version of adb.exe and problem solved. Thanks for responding Edmond.

Yes, I'm running a tasker command using AutoTools plugin from within my device. But I needed to grant AutoTools secure settings permission, with command prompt from computer using adb.exe.

if you are rooted you can run anything inside tasker, you really
shouldnt need adb, and you really shouldnt need autoplugins as you
just write your own .sh scripts.. action -> run shell

or am i missing something?

Next goal, I want this device to allow 3rd party audio equalizers to function with my music library, Samsung appears to prevent it on my Android version 4.4.

for the 3rd party dsp chaining (inserting EQ between app and between
your speaker), it really depends more on apps than on OS.. I know you
get beautiful EQ dsp in lineageOS but really doesnt work and i just
believe it wasnt implemented fully (on most hardware).. for example I
use "speaker booster pro" and it works awesome with most apps,
probably there are similar eq apps as well.. many times you have to
find a differently written mp3 player to allow that (various sockets
used, resource allocation methods etc)

soundabout is a cool app to reroute your sounds through any sockets
and that should work (you'll need to find apk, its not on gplay)
