GSoC Proposal Submission Process

Hi SymPy Community,

I’m planning to submit my GSoC 2025 proposal and wanted to clarify the submission process.

I noticed that there isn’t a dedicated space for GSoC 2025 yet. Am I allowed to edit the SymPy wiki to draft my proposal and create a 2025 folder, or is there a preferred method for submission? If there’s a standard procedure, I’d love to know the steps to follow.

Hi Firat,

The GSoC proposal submission will take place on the official GSoC website. The application period will begin from March 24th - April 8th.

You can share your proposal in this email group itself, for review before submission.

Thank you for your response.

My apologies, I've made the wrong choice of word by "submission". I actually meant to share it under the wiki page, as I realized some old contributors shared their projects on the sympy wiki before the submission date.

I am aware that the submission will be made over the GSoC website, but thanks anyway.  

But, still I wanted to get this, can contributors use the Sympy wiki for draft proposals for review purposes or the only way for reviewing is sending it to the email list.

Yes, you may use the wiki to draft your proposal. This is not
required, but it is available for you to use if you like.
