Risch algorithm for symbolic integration

Hello,

I am Divyum Rastogi, 3rd year B.Tech student of Jaypee Institute of Information Technology. I was going through the ideas page of SymPy and found "Risch algorithm for symbolic integration" quite interesting. I would like to contribute in it in the GSoC 2014. 

I am a beginner in open source but I am open to learning new things and ready to work hard. I love coding and I am also good at maths.

Can anyone tell me more about the project in detail and what should I do to start contributing.

I shall be glad.
