Hi!  I just started using Switchlist, and I like the operation.  It seems to be just complicated enough to do the job.

Except...  My local freight is essentially a turn run.  It starts at the end of the shortline, works customers from locations A to D, then goes to the interchange with a class 1, a yard.  It then returns to its start, making drops on the way.  All seems to work well, except the cars intended for town A are not on my switchlist, so they don't get set out there. They'll get taken back to the starting yard. But if I click Train Completed and run an industry report, SwitchList thinks the cars were set out.

The train's stops include all the towns into the interchange, then lists them again for the return to its start.

Is handling this kind of train not within the capabilities of the program?  Or maybe you have some hints for this beginner.

Thanks!
Dale

Hi, Dale,

Can you send me a copy of your layout file? SwitchList should handle a turn like this just fine.

Also, which switchlist style are you using, and do the cars show up if you choose a different style of switchlist? This may be a bug in one of the switchlist generators.

Robert,

I used Railroad Letterhead.  I will manually move the errant cars to where SwitchList thinks they should be and do another run tonight,  first capturing switch lists for all the styles, then seeing which/any fail.

My experience with Groups is limited; I don't understand how to send the file, I don't see an Attach function here.

Just e-mail the file directly to me at rbow...@mac.com using your favorite mail program.
