I haven’t had a Bad star ID error in a long time.

 

This project should fix it. Make sure you run it on a copy of your damaged project, just to be safe

Thanks Joe, however an empty project was created and the “recovery” did not generate any data in the Log file.

It sounds like the problem is either in the project itself, or else on the first card of window 1.

Can you open the project in SuperEdit?

The project opens in SuperEdit. Two of the three windows and their cards all open, but attempts to open window 1 get the same “Bad star ID” message.
