I would like to do The Rescue for my first project. I'm just finishing reading it and think that it would be good starting point. 

Outside of Szymon, I didn't see anyone else talking about it.

There's an epigraph, dedication, and preface, so include those before the half titlepage. This book has a subtitle, which you'll have to include in the metadata and half titlepage. 

The book is divided into parts, see the manual for how to structure that. PG has removed the formatting from the chapter headers so make sure to restore that. They may have also removed more formatting like italics, so please eyeball the page scans to see if there are any italics or other formatting, like letters, to restore.

Make sure to read the Standard Ebooks Manual of Style before starting, as you won't know what to fix if you haven't read the standards. In particular, please closely review the semantics, high level patterns, and typography sections:

Alex,

I'm almost finished with The Rescue and have an idea for the cover image and wanted to run it past you.
I'm looking at "View of Talagabodas" by Raden Saleh which I think will work well with the other two Lingard books' covers.  'An Outcast of the Islands' cover is also a by Raden Saleh. I'm not finding references to painting in past publications

Alex,

Unfortunately I wasn't able to find any copyright information for the two images I previously mention.

After going down a couple of images which just led to more rabbit holes.

So I circled back images that have already been cleared for SE and found one that I think will work.

It won't match the other two Lingard books' covers but it definitely works for the book. 

There is a pivotal scene in the book with Lingard and Mrs. Travers on the water at night that the image matches.

I'm thinking of 'Point Judith, Rhode Island' by Martin Johnson Heade. 

Crop it around the middle of the image, including the single boat and the moon and I think it will work.

Just let me know.
