Hi all,

On the behalf of the Spyder Project Contributors, I’m pleased to announce that Spyder 4.1.1 has been released and is available for Windows, GNU/Linux and MacOS X: https://github.com/spyder-ide/spyder/releases

This release comes three days after version 4.1.1 and it contains the following new features and important fixes:

  • New features

    • Add file path completions to the Editor. This works by writing the beginning of a file path, either absolute or relative, inside a string and pressing Tab or Ctrl+Space.
    • Add a new command line option called --report-segfault to be able to send segmentation fault reports to Github.
  • Important fixes

    • Fix a critical error when starting kernels on Windows.
    • Update Jedi to 0.15.2.
    • Add conda activation scripts for the kernel to the package.

In this release we fixed 6 issues and merged 8 pull requests that amount to more than 40 commits. For a full list of fixes, please see our Changelog.

Don’t forget to follow Spyder updates/news on the project’s website.

Last, but not least, we welcome any contribution that helps making Spyder an efficient scientific development and computing environment. Join us to help creating your favorite environment!

Enjoy!
Carlos
