My point was, the X18 is in the signal path regardless of whether he routes through the DAW or not. If he's applying processing (compression, EQ, FX) to his main mix in the X18, he can tap the Mains pre-EQ -- effectively using the X18 as an interface to minimize the delay. I seem to recall my X32 reporting around 12mS round trip with jack-iodelay post Fader with FX, EQ, ..). Not great but not terrible. Routing through the DAW must add some latency to the path -- if he's not recording, I don't see an advantage re: latency with the current 2-ch input limit of Sonobus. Honestly, i don't see the advantage in routing through a DAW after Sonobus goes MC (again, unless you are recording).
