Hello to everyone.

I need some help/advice and unfortunately didn´t find any other place where to ask.

I want to use sLORETA program for EEG research and I would like to use it´s own SnPM, particularly exceedance proportion test for interpreting results. But I was unable to find any tutorial or something, how to interprete the results, numbers and everything after running stats in sLORETA - Randomizations for "bullet proof correcter tresholds and p-values".

I can understant how to interprete upper part of the file EEG-tresholds&ExtremeP´s (first chart dealing with one-tailed / two-tailed tests + p-values) when compared real results in file EEG-MagStatistics

But how am I suppose to connect this with the rest numbers below (exceedance proportion test and 6 columns of numbers below).

Please, any advice will be helpful - I´m stuck here.

Thanks in forward.

Hi,

I'm afraid I don't know the LORETA software, so I can't say. Can you check with the LORETA software's authors?

For what it's worth, an "exceedance proportion test" sounds like an omnibus test (for any activation anywhere) based on the fraction of statistic values above some threshold. Main drawbacks are that it is an omnibus test and depends on some arbitrary threshold to define how fraction. Otw, sounds fine.

Hello, author! I can't answear your question, but I have the same problem! We have downloaded recently sLORETA and now we try to get outside of a program. There are a great tutorial, but there is no description of how to interpret statistical results. So if you've dealt with it already I would be glad if you shared your knowledge.
Sorry for my english! I'm from Russia!

Hi Armen,

I fear I don't have any inside knowledge on the sLORETA toolbox... all I can imagine is that a "exceedance" test is like a global, omnibus test, that tells you something (anything) is going on, but not where/when.

Sorry I can't be of more help... try the sLORETA folks!

Dear,

I currently have the same problem with the interpretation of the exceedence proportion test.
Has someone discovered how to interpret the results?

Thanks a lot!

Kind Regards,
Lisa Goudman

Dear Lisa,

Is there a sLORETA mailing list when you can ask about the exceedence proportion test?  I can only guess about it.
