Hi and thanks for the add. Hoping someone might be able to assist ease. I have a late 2011 i7 Macbook pro 15 running Yosemite. It froze whilst i was workimg on it showimg vertical grey bars accross the screen for approx 10 secs before rebooting itself to a blank grey screen. If i try to boot to web repair it gets about a 3rd of the way along and then boots again to grey screen. I managed to run hardware diag and it gave me a 4mem/62 error. I removed and cleaned the 2 ram chips (2x 8) but still same. Anybideas please?

Sounds like the 2011 model's faulty graphics card issue, could be the VRAM which is generating the error.

There are logic board repair services out there who can resolder a new graphics card onto it. The last one I used cost around £200 and I believe the laptop is still running, by a company called VAIO Refurbs in Cumbria.
