scenario - 14.4 system with working fax services - both faxes on Analog Gateways, and faxes with DID in Unified Messaging.
Updated to 15.12 and none of the faxing is working any longer.

Setup is PRI from Telco to Gateway to sipXcom 15.12.

When I call to the system from a fax machine, I see the call in the logs, and I see several complaints -
Fax receive failed from 4254443316. Error text: Timer T2 expired while waiting for fax page. Error code: 31
Fax Receive: Could not convert TIFF to PDF. TIFF will be attached
faxrx::tiff2Pdf error /tmp/fax_2016-02-05-00-39-11_2768656294458723160.tiff not found as file or resource."

I've toggled the new feature enable T.38 Invite between both off and on, with no change in results.

I've look at the permission for the default folder define for tmp file delivery at it looks normal.

When I call from a fax, I receive nothing.  When I call from a phone, I receive a email with a 0 byte TIFF attached.  Nothing when sending from a fax machine.

I've updated the Gateway firmware just in case.

Anyone else seeing this or have a workaround for this issue?

this was resolved by removing ECM from the Gateway.

Freeswitch configs have ECM enabled, maybe it needs to be disabled.  ?

I disable ECM in every gateway for the fax profile. I also disable it on paper fax machines sitting behind the sipx system.

I'm a little bothered that I can't just update the without then toggling t.38 reinvite to true/on. I think it should be set to true/on as default in the update.

A lot of times when we introduce a new setting like that we don't like to disturb the existing running system until we're sure that we want it as a system default.  The goal is to not break somebody's running system but allow the option of enabling the new setting.  Sort of a 'do no harm' policy.

If its determined that this ought to be the new default we can make it so.

Recall however that this was added to try and workaround a FreeSwitch bug.

Thanks,
  Mike
