Important: Mining Claims & Exploration

Perhaps some of you had heard of this already, but I had not until today. This is very concerning as the claims are being staked in many of our mountain biking & hiking areas. Some may live near these areas as well. (Despite the article's title, there are also claims that have been staked in the Little Walnut area apparently.)

New mining claims staked around PA

I haven't had time to contact the Forest Service, but I plan to so that I can find out when/where public comments can be made.

The most important thing we can do as cyclists and supporters of public lands is sign the attached letter to the Forest Service. I encourage everyone to do so.

Does anyone know if there is an interactive map anywhere detailing
where the claims are located? Naturally we are curious how deep into
our public lands (and trails), it all may go.
