McCallum Enterprises I Limited Partnership (Licensee) owns and operates the Derby Hydroelectric Project (FERC No. 6066, Project) located on the Housatonic River in the cities of Shelton (Fairfield
County) and Derby (New Haven County), Connecticut. The Eveready Machine Company, predecessor to the Licensee, received an Order Issuing License (Major) on March 25, 1986 (Order). The license expires March 1, 2026. The Licensee is filing with the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission the Draft License Application (DLA) for the relicensing of the Project. Pursuant to 18 CFR §4.38, the Licensee is providing volume 1 and II of the DLA (via electronic medium and Priority Mail) to the parties listed on the attached distribution list. A public notice of this filing will be published and a copy will be available for public viewing at the Licensee offices. Written comments are due within 90 days of the date of filing.

Volume III-Exhibit F contains Critical Energy Infrastructure Information (CEII) material under 18 CFR § 388.113 of the FERC guidelines and the contents are not for public release. Volume IV – Supporting Design Report will be filed with the final license application.

Excellent - the long awaited fish ladder. I hope history does not repeat itself and they retain someone who knows the intricacies of the topic. As I recall the builders of either version #1 of the dam or the current iteration of the dam after the first one failed promised the local fisherman 120 years ago that the annual shad migration upstream would not be interrupted but they did not design the fish ladder correctly and the fish would not or could not use it. The process will of course have to be continued upstream to the next dam in Monroe - a taller leap to overcome indeed.
