Yesterday I was setting up our production server of security onion on a
bare metal HP ProLiant server. I tried to use the iso I have used to create multiple VM instances and no mater if the iso was on a usb stick or on a cd rom when booting up the screen to chose to install security onion was replaced with a screen to launch security onion OS. I was then met with a login prompt for a user and password. Even trying the same iso on a local desktop i did not get the prompt to run the install SO. I was forced to go the route of running a ubuntu 16.04 iso and then installing SO on top.
Is the ISO on github just good for running on a Virtual insulation?

Hi Matt,

The ISO should work fine.

Have you tried booting with/without UEFI enabled to compare the result, and see if you still have the issue?

Thanks,
Wes

Since the first BM box had a HD failure i moved to another BM box.
But i can try again on the first after i install new drives and see if turning the UEFI either on or off works.
