Sir,

I had been trying to install Sage on a Debian System. I get an error of missing "OpenLabs" package when I run the make command.

The log file is attached herewith.

Please reply.

Thank you

OpenBlas. This is one of Sage components that needs to be downloaded.
The error you see is about inability to download it.
Do you have problems with internet connection?

I had the same problem, but it was easily fixed pre-pending Google's DNS to /etc/resolv.conf
"nameserver 8.8.8.8"
Also, check that you can resolve other sites via the terminal "ping google.com"
ERROR [transfer|run:135]: [Errno socket error] [Errno -2] Name or service not known
Also, yes ^^ this indicates your VM is having network connectivity issues.

Yes we are not allowed to use internet on that system.

However I have seen the openlabs package located in the system under Sage folder.

If I still need to download, then please share the URL for it.

Where should I place the package after download?

well, how can you download anything to a system if you cannot use
internet on this system?
Do you mean to say that you have a sort of a restricted access, to a
local network?

The standard and optional Sage packages are here:
http://www.sagemath.org/download-packages.html

but sorting out by hand would you need is a huge pain, we talk about
150 files or so.
I'd suggest to set up a web proxy instead...

I can only download it from some other computer and then copy it to that system using pen drive.

You might be better off with a usb stick based Sage installation from
https://sagedebianlive.metelu.net/

Suggestion: call B the computer with network blocked,
and A a computer with internet access. Install Sage
from source on A, then copy the "upstream" directory
from A to B. Then you can compile from source on B.

Not even necessary. On an internet-connected machine you can
pre-fetch all package tarballs by running

$ src/bin/sage-download-upstream

Note that this grabs *all* package tarballs including optional and experimental.
