convert existing projects to course projects?

Is this possible to add an already exist project of a student to the course management system as an student project?

Therefore, there will be no need create a new project.

There's no official way to do this. However, it's probably possible
by directly editing the .course file with vim in the terminal.
Alternatively, it isn't hard to copy all files from one project to
another, and to remove/apply upgrades.

How important is this for you right now?

If this proves frustrating, creating a support request by clicking the
Help button. Include a link to the course file, etc. Naturally, I
know the exact format of the course file, since I designed it (also,
it's hopefully not hard to reverse engineer). (If you really wanted
to, you could really do anything regarding automating creation of
course files from a Python script, etc....)
