Did you look there for any error messages?

When I've had this problem, it's been fixed by installing the relevant dev libraries - libxml2-dev and libxslt-dev. How you do that depends on OS, etc. On Ubuntu, just sudo apt-get install them.

You are still top posting and have still not told us if there is
anything in mkmf.log.

Sometimes getting information is like getting the proverbial blood out
of a stone.

Also is the error message /exactly/ the same after installing the
additional dependencies?
