As discussed with most of you we plan to meet up at the Village Brasserie for a curry for our traditional end of summer meal.

Please confirm ASAP whether you are coming and how many places you would like to have reserved.

Time: 7.30 pm, Tuesday 28 August
Location: 10, West Street, Reigate, RH2 9BS

We also discussed having an early ride near Reigate at 4.30 before the meal for those available. Nigel has offered to lead this as I am away sailing and am unlikely to be back in time.

Change of plan ! I can’t do early ride now. Those who want curry,enjoy. Those who want a final cycle,make your way to The Dolphin,Betchworth for 20:30 for food if wanted. Cycle home for those who still have legs and lights. Didn’t want to get too complicated!

Sorry the early cycle didn’t work out, but if anyone would like to get together put your hand up and suggest a meeting point!

There appears to be a break-out group of Sue, Nigel and Tony doing a later cycle and Dolphin meal. Enjoy your cycle but sorry we won’t be seeing you.

That makes it about 5 of us (so far) for the ride, plus a few more for the
curry afterwards.
If the weather's looking better than today's was, I'd suggest a gentle ride,
on-road, to take about an hour or so.
Why don't we meet at the Flanchford Road car park at, say, 6 pm. It will
still be light, and we can get back to the Village Brasserie by about 7,
which will even allow time for a pint at the Blue Anchor beforehand.
Someone can plan a simple route and lead the ride.

How does that sound?

There seems to be a decreasing number of participants for tonight's
pre-Village Brasserie bike ride.
It will still be taking place, so if you are planning to join us, could you
please let me know some time today, so that I/we know whether to look out
for you or wait for you.

For your information, the route planned, mainly on-road, is Flanchford Road,
Leigh, Bunce Common Road, Brockham, either by Middle Street or by the short
extension down Roothill Lane, Kiln Lane, Old Reigate Road, Buckland,
Dungates Lane, Flanchford Road.

So pleased to hear that cycling and beer have given you all such fun. Think I might try it to see how I get on. 

Tonight’s prom is Verdi Requiem 1930. You will get standing tickets on the web site at 0900. Richard and I will be there for sure. 

I would also recommend Handel - Theodora next Friday. Good meaty stuff for those who like to die for their Christian faith and love of a good woman. Music ain’t bad either....
