compute node routing

On my 7.0 (CentOS 7.4) test cluster the compute nodes aren't able to reach hosts outside of the cluster. What needs to be done to make it happen? Comparing routing tables of the compute nodes and frontend to that of a Rocks 6.2 cluster in the same network environment, I don't see any obvious differences.

Did u change the firewall on the frontend? Rocks uses iptables not firewalld.  NAT is set up automatically.

No, no firewall adjustments -- nothing intentional, at least. But now,
after a frontend reboot, compute-node traffic is being routed to outside
networks as expected/desired. Go figure. If it recurs and I can't figure
out a reason for it I'll let you know.
