Hello,

Just wanted to point that some information about minimal permissions needed for the application pool that Roadkill is running are not correct. At several places (installation process and page "Installing" on the wiki), you're stating that "the application pool that Roadkill is running as should have enough permissions to write to the web.config". It's correct but it's not enough:
  • During the installation process, you'll also need to have granted "full control" in your bin folder in order to create the Plugins folder and all the sub-folders and files for each plugin.
  • When checking if the Web.Config is writable, your test is creating a temporary file near the web.config (in the root of your website), so you also need to have set "full control" on your root for the application pool running Roadkill.
It looks like an interesting and well-done project.

The installer just does a write to the web.config file (the .NET framework might try to make a temporary file in the process), and so the full control permissions usually are inherited. I'll update the wiki when I get a chance though, thanks.
