Hello,--I'm struggling to write a python script to read the raw data from the geophone. Is it possible to read the geophone data directly with Python? If yes, what are the GPIO pins where I should read the raw values.Thank you,Sorin

in fact, I only bought Raspberry Shake for the hardware. I don't need any software it comes with, nor SWARM, seedlink stream and anything included in Raspbian from OSOP. I just want to use it as a regular ADC with a geophone and a fancy case. Please, if you can help with this informatio (where do I get the raw geophone data from the GPIO) I will write my own Python script.
BTW this should be explained in the docs.

BTW, The python script will run from Raspberry PI, so I follow your scope (using Raspberry Shake in harmony with Raspberry Pi) excepting using your limited software.

Why I shouldn't even know where to get the raw values from it as long as I bought it? I'm here to ask your help, no matter what the end purpose is, as long as I'm not breaking any license issues (as I'm not gonna use your software and I want to build my own).I am not asking here for the schematic data, I understood that this is closed source and you don't want it on Alibaba.com. I am just asking how to read the raw data, at the most basic level. I told you that I will write my own code so no need to buy support hours here.If you don't at least support Indie developers, mention that your only desire is to create a seismic network and we, the developers should not touch your hardware in other ways than using your software it comes with. This is like buying a cage to live in while you own the keys. Seriously, can you help or just continue to say that you don't even care and I only should stare at it while connected to EQ/Station view or seedlink readers (SeisGram2k, Obspy, Seiscomp3 and so on).I know this is possible, and GeoFlow is open source. It's a shame that we live in 2017 and the seedlink was invented in 90'. It's like using the old TV's instead of the modern LED's because the original TV inventor said so.If you don't want this project come to life and help the seismologists community, at least show the info because I bought your hardware.Thank you,Sorin

Hi Sorin!Good day.We designed Raspberry Shake to operate in harmony with a Raspberry Pi and finely tuned software suite thus creating a plug-and-go seismograph solution. Sir,I only need to know how I could get the raw data. That's all. Nothng more. The hardware is excellent, nothing to complain against it. You did a great job.But I'm not satisfied with this kind of support from you. You are telling me that if I don't use the software, but only the hardware, I should return the unit because it's not in the scope it was designed. This is like I'm buying a car to carry the same passenger every day. If I'm planning to carry my kids with that car, then I should return the car to the product owner because it was not designedto include a child seat. So, please be kind and tell me how to read the RX/TX GPIO pins (TX / RPi Pin 8RX / RPi Pin 10)Thank you,Sorin

You completely did not understand what I'm trying to do.I just want to read the raw data from the geophone, trough the Raspberry Shake ADC without using the seedlink and the software used to convert the data to miniSEED continuous stream.I want to create my own sofware which runs the stream like this:What intellectual property must be protected here? Is this a "DO NOT READ THE GPIO PINS DIRECTLY" statement?I tried to read them but the data is scrambled and needs decription. Seriously guys? You convert the Geophone analog output to some encrypted (according to /usr/local/bin/miniterm.py) digital signal that can only be read by your software? Now this is a big disappointment. This means your only intention was to sell cheap seismometers to the world in order to let people host your seismic network stations in their homes. What a great plan. It's not fair that we can only share the data with you or be forced to use the SeedLink "World's standard". That's why you don't want people to change everything in the configuration, right? You don't even care about developers then and only follow maximum profit. This IS the worst support I've ever seen, no matter how much golden arguments you try to cover this topic with. Why? the problem was simple: How to read the GPIO pins for the RS. Answer: You don't. You must use the seedlink. How about no?Let me give you a good example of support:I bought also a seismometer from INFILTEC. That guy helped me a lot with the configuration and I'm able to read the serial port values and use them in whatever project I want. You don't support me. You force me to follow your standards and not willing to help me anyway. Conclusion: I will never buy anything from OSOP again.Sorin

Angel,so far this is how support should look. Everyone from your support team should take you as an example. I am impressed and you made this topic going back to the rails.
I apologize for being a bit nervous and losing patience but yes, I would be grateful if you could help me parse the packets.
Thank you,
Sorin
Excepting for Angel, the rest of the support was missing at all. I got a ton of emails from OSOP customers who are seeing this thread and they all gave me support for this issue. They also are blaming you, Branden for this mess. Keep in mind that I didn't asked for any schematic, but the way to get the raw data.
Angel, you're the man. You showed him how to handle this and you are a kind person.
I will delete the messages from social media platforms only because of you.
Have a good day
