Hello INLA developers!,

I'm running into the following error on a server:

-------
lustre/home/jrequena/.conda/envs/R-4.4.3-env/lib/R/library/INLA/bin/linux/64bit/inla.mkl: /lustre/home/jrequena/.conda/envs/R-4.4.3-env/lib/R/library/INLA/bin/linux/64bit/first/libstdc++.so.6: version `GLIBCXX_3.4.30' not found (required by /home/jrequena/.conda/envs/R-4.4.3-env/lib/R/lib/../../libicuuc.so.75)

 *** inla.core.safe:  The inla program failed, but will rerun in case better initial values may help. try=1/1
/lustre/home/jrequena/.conda/envs/R-4.4.3-env/lib/R/library/INLA/bin/linux/64bit/inla.mkl: /lustre/home/jrequena/.conda/envs/R-4.4.3-env/lib/R/library/INLA/bin/linux/64bit/first/libstdc++.so.6: version `GLIBCXX_3.4.30' not found (required by /home/jrequena/.conda/envs/R-4.4.3-env/lib/R/lib/../../libicuuc.so.75)
Error in inla.core.safe(formula = formula, family = family, contrasts = contrasts,  :
------------

I have run inla.install.binary() and selected the server's distro (./Rocky Linux-8.10 (Green Obsidian)) and also ./Rocky Linux-9.5 (Blue Onyx), but it did not work.

I'm on a conda environment that contains the required versions; however, I have tried to enforce INLA to use them with no success.
Any help is really welcome!
Thank you!
Juanmi

Please upgrade to R-4.5, we're only building against 4.5

after reinstalling (testing version of) INLA, you need to install new binaries
with

inla.binary.install()

then chose a relevant Linux version (I would guess one of Rocky-8 to 10 would go
fine)

if that one does not work, then just retry with another (older) variant

best
