BlueSky option?

Hi Jim and the group,

 

Has anyone looked at using BlueSky now that Twitter (X) no longer supports PYWWS?

 

I am now using BlueSky and it looks to be so much better than X, and so far, no ads or trolls!

I haven't looked until now. As far as I can tell, its API is the "AT
protocol" (https://atproto.com/). It looks similar to others, with OAuth
authentication and sending JSON statuses via HTTPS POST.

It also has no income stream, so don't expect that to last.

I'm on BlueSky but more ideologically committed to Mastodon. Distributed
federated networks are how it should be done. (Any one else still using
Usenet? NNTP protocol is nearly 40 years old and still works.)

Hi Jim,

 

I couldn't get on with Mastodon, as I found it a little confusing, and wasn't always able to find the folk I wanted to follow, even though I knew they were there.

 

I appreciate that BlueSky doesn't (yet) have an income stream, but you never know, it may stay that way....

 

I would be very interested to know if you could get it to work, assuming you have the inclination.
