Hi, I am trying to build a model where a ship travels around a 1000x1000 grid, navigates to waypoints, avoids obstacles, gets affected by weather, and all that jazz.

Is there a visualization toolkit that can be used in conjunction with SimPy to help me achieve this?  A cursory search hasn't turned up anything useful.  If anyone is familiar with the MicroSaint Sharp discrete event simulator, it would be the built-in Animator tab which is what I am looking for.

Thanks for your help.

I haven't tried this yet...but I was have been thinking about using SimPy inside of Blender.

You may want to give this a try for your animations. Please let me know how it goes!!

You could consider another (new) discrete event simulation package, called salabim. Salabim supports Simpy 2 like process interaction, real time animation as well as out-of-the-box monitoring, Have a look at salabim.org.

I like the idea of SimPy with Blender due to Blender's gaming functionality.

But first things first - the model.

Trying to show a very complex model..if I can't make this work I will give salabim a try.

Do you have an example of a model in salabim with a large number of entities with a large number of attributes flowing through a few processes with monitoring?
