Puppet Pro, 2nd edition - status directly from APress

I queried the publisher directly because depending what site you look at, you get info that says anything from already published to "will ship on March 31,  2014" (Books-A-Million).

This book is published on December 16, 2013 but due to a massive system migration which is just about completed this still shows in Alpha. However the updated content would be available in a week's time.

I also find it very amusing that there are 5 sellers in the Amazon Marketplace that say they will sell you a USED copy of THIS book for between $95 and $115.  Does that include a deed to the Brooklyn Bridge or what ?

I am one of the Authors of Pro Puppet. I'm glad to hear that everyone is trying to buy the book. I'm sorry that its taken so long to get it written, then even longer to get the book to all of you.

I have a couple responses:

1) If the book is taking too long to get to you, or you are being told some ridiculous ship date, please contact me off list and I will do what I can to kick this down the road.

2) If you are unable to afford the book due to financial hardship, please contact me off list and we can probably work something out.

For what its worth, I haven't received my copies yet either.

Thanks so much for giving us the opportunity to write this, we really appreciate it. Any feedback you have would be welcome, positive or negative. Though, we would rather see negative feedback sent privately.

​ still shows a ship date of 31st March 2014.  Is this just a mistake on their part?  (I'm in the UK, hence looking at their UK site).  If the shipping date is accurate, I'd settle for a non-kindle electronic format, but Amazon obviously don't do such a thing.

Apress offer a PDF, which I could get for $41.99, or if I buy the dead-tree copy for $59.99 I could get the PDF for an additional $10.  So, what I thought of doing was to order the dead-tree copy then order the 'companion' PDF for $10 so that I could start reading while I wait for delivery.  However, the companion order process appears to want me to have the dead-tree version in front of me to ensure I have actually bought it :-(

So, in short, I'm after the quickest way of getting my hands on the book but also trying to maximise value for money.  Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

​Well, don't I look a fool now.  It shows a 'Publication date' of 31st March 2014, but a status of 'In Stock'!  Ordered the dead-tree copy now.
