Perspective matching with overlay

Hi!

I have an aerial photo of my home town from around 1920, and tried as good as I could to match the perspective/position with my drone when shooting a sphere panorama. The old photo is shot with a tele lens from higher altitude, and I'd like to push and pull my new panorama to at least match the most important landmarks.

Is there a way to correct/adapt perspective of a panorama based on a layer, so I can overlay the old picture and warp the new to match based on landmarks?
The goal is to have the black and white on on top of the other to see the differences.

The drone panorama here is the preview file from the drone and not from the raw dng-files.

Greetings, 

May I suggest you position the drone a bit lower, to frame more "open" in order correct by cropping later, after you have corrected the perspective and distortion while overlaying layers in photoshop....

Hi Magnus,

If the drone is at a different position than the original image was
taken from, you will have parallax. Because the subject is not flat, you
will not be able to perfectly align the images.

That said, you might be able to get a reasonable alignment by using
viewpoint correction (PTGui Pro only) for one of the images.

* Load the two images in PTGui
* Use individual lens settings for both images, or assign two different
lens profiles in the Lens Settings tab
* Place control points
* Switch the optimizer to Advanced mode
* Disable all optimizations for one of the images
* Optimize yaw/pitch/roll and Viewpoint for the other image
* Run the optimizer

If you need more help, please post your project file after you've placed
the control points.
