I recently picked up the new Insta360 One R and have been using their studio software to stitch files together but at times it fails me.  I was wondering if these could be stitched in PTGui by chance?

Below is the Exif Info..

Hi Steve,

This camera will be added to PTGui in a future update.

Attached is a template you can use. In PTGui do Tools - Open Folder -
Template Folder, and store the file there.

Load your image in PTGui.
Then load the same image another time.
Apply the template
Run Align Images.

Kind regards,

Joost Nieuwenhuijse

By the way, that template was made for .insp files. You need to add the
.jpg extension to it (xxx.insp.jpg) for PTGui to recognize it.

The insp file has the two fisheyes horizontally next to each other. DNG
files have the two fisheyes vertically above each other. To use them
with this template, convert DNG to tiff and rotate 90 degrees.

The next PTGui will handle this automatically.

After placing the template in the folder and apply I could not get it to work. Instead it appeared to only apply one side of the two spheres.
Any ideas of what I may have done wrong? Maybe it's best to wait for the update to PTGui.

David, If you can supply a sample file, maybe we will be able to get it to work fairly easily.  Which version of PTGui are you using?

Thanks for the offer. When I get home I'll post the files. There are both .dng and the camera's native files...upload both?
As for version, I'm running Pro on the Mac at latest version of 11.21.

When I photographed the inside of a sauna I used the HDR, 9 steps which produced 9 .dng files and 9 .insp files. I will attach one of each (1 bracket) along with the .tiff after running all 9 .dng files through Photomatix.
Just tried to attach the files and they were rejected. Too big?

David, The limit on attachments is 4MB (as stated in the note at the head of the forum).  Instead, you should upload to somewhere convenient and include a link in the post here.  E.g. you can use Dropbox or the free service at wetransfer.com (no need to register).

Hi David,

Before applying the template, you have to load the same image twice. So
you have to click the Load Images button two times, or drag the file
from Explorer twice.

The template was made for .insp files. Add .jpg to the end of the
filename so PTGui recognizes it.

If you use DNG files, you need to convert to TIFF first and rotate the
image 90 degrees counterclockwise.

You need to link the images manually in order to get hdr to operate. Each camera image has one of its two images active via a crop circle applied, so creating control points has to be done with care when done manually as I did.  I have got the basic project working in the attached project file, but you can tinker with tone mapping and anything else that you fancy.  It's my bed time so I cannot spend much time on this!

Hi Steve,

Your first 3 shots have the same exposure time. For (automatic) HDR in
PTGui, all images have to be taken at different exposure times.

If you drop the last 3 dngs onto PTGui, it will detect that it is a
bracketed set.

Kind regards,

Hi Joost,
Should I be seeing support for the Insta360 in the latest 11.28 update or do I need to experiment with the template? Still seeing a bit of stitching errors..

Hi Peter,

The one R is supported in PTGui 11.28.

You still need to run Align Images, or create a template for your
camera. Please see 6.43:

Hi,

In order to swap one workflow step (change file extension from .insp to .jpg), it would be nice if PTGui could accept .insp file in a project.
