Hello! I am brand new to PTGui, and I am using the trial right now because I want to make sure your software will work with what I need to do.

I make virtual environments using 3D Vista, where we add hotspots and other features, and then load it to a server. For Vista, I need panoramas. I have tried to use their stitching software, but I just have so many problems with it...this is why I am shopping around for a better one.

Right now, my designer will design in Z-Form and then send me 6 cubed photos (top, bottom, center, left, right, and back). I need to take these 6 images and convert them into one 360 pano in order to add it to our vista scene.

I am having the hardest time trying to figure out how to do this in your software. Any help would be appreciated. If possible, I would like a quick response. This is for a time sensitive job for one of my clients.

Thanks,

Hi Jacqui,

Something like this should work:

- load your 6 images
- cancel any windows asking for the lens / camera type
- Panorama Editor -> Blending: Set Blender:Don't Blend and disable 'find
optimum seams'
- Panorama Editor Menu -> Projection -> Spherical
- In the main window side bar click Advanced
- go to Lens Settings
- Set Type to Rectilinear and Horizontal FoV to 90 degrees
- go to Image Parameters and fill the yaw/pitch/roll of each image manually:
The front/right/back/left images will have pitch=0, and yaw 0,90,180 and -90
The top image has pitch 90
Bottom has pitch -90

If it looks good, do File - Save As Template

For subsequent projects you can do File - Apply Template after loading
the images.

All this might be a bit daunting if you've never used PTGui. If you need
more help just make a set of images available and I'll give them a try.

Kind regards,

Joost Nieuwenhuijse
